Oxtongue Lake for Arts and Culture (OLAC) celebrates and promotes the region’s rich artistic
heritage while fostering community engagement through arts, education, and cultural
initiatives. Through partnerships, programming, and community-driven projects, OLAC
continues to bring the creative spirit of the Oxtongue region to life

Arts Promotion & Programming
Promoted the documentary “Painting the Wilderness of the Oxtongue”
Developed an A.J. Casson–themed hike for the Hike Haliburton Festival
Hosted two Artists’ Day festivals featuring painters, photographers, ceramicists, and other
local artists
Sponsored guest artists as part of the Community Centre speaker series

Created and installed a historical outdoor exhibit at the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre
Installed four interpretive art history plaques around the lake
Sponsored and funded the mural “Spring on the Oxtongue River’ (Lawren Harris, 1924) at

Donated a Swift canoe to support Huntsville Hospital Foundation and Dorset Health Hub
